Blake Tollison Shelton, born June 18, 1976, is a country music artist and television personality from the United States. He made his breakthrough with the track “Austin” in 2001. “Austin,” the lead single off his self-titled debut album, spent five weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His second and third albums, The Dreamer in 2003 and Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill in 2004, have gone gold and platinum, respectively.

He has received nine Grammy Award nominations over his career, including two for Best Country Album. Shelton has served as a judge on the NBC singing competitions Nashville Star and Clash of the Choirs, as well as a coach on The Voice, from 2011 till date.

Blake Tollison Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma, to beauty salon owner Dorothy Ann (née Bristol) and car salesman Richard Lee “Dick” Shelton (1940-2012). Dick, Shelton’s father, died on January 17, 2012, in Oklahoma, after a period of health issues. Both parents appear to be supportive of their son’s career, however there isn’t much information about them.
