Ghanaian rapper, composer, and businessman Michael Owusu Addo, better known by his stage name Sarkodie, was born in Tema on July 10, 1988. He has received various honors for his contributions to the Ghanaian music business, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for “Artiste of the Decade.” In addition, at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards, he was revealed as the first recipient of the BET Award for Best International Flow Artist. He is also regarded as one of the Azonto movement’s most influential dance and genre proponents and one of the greatest African rappers ever.
