Ayo Animashaun, The Headies’ Executive Producer, Explains Why Nigeria Will Host The 2024 Edition

The Headies Awards and its organizers have announced that, after two straight editions hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, the prestigious award ceremony would return to Nigeria.

Following this momentous news, the founder of Headies disclosed the rationale behind this abrupt return to Nigeria. The decision to move the Headies back to Nigeria was motivated by the enormous demand from Nigerians, according to Mr. Ayo Animashaun, Executive Producer, in an interview with Arise News.

He stressed how crucial it is to serve the people’s needs while also paying attention to their wishes. Animashaun also disclosed that moving the awards to Atlanta, Georgia, was a calculated decision that kept the event from collapsing. He clarified the reasoning behind hosting the 15th and 16th editions in the US, saying, “If we hadn’t taken the awards out of Nigeria, it would have died.”

Ayo Animashaun emphasized in the interview that the US embassy in Nigeria has provided the Headies with substantial support for the last two years. In order to help Nigerians attend the event, this support included throwing parties and helping them obtain visas.

He emphasized how the American embassy had an impact on the decision to move the concert outside of Nigeria.
