The former United States President, Barack Obama, has once again shared his top music picks for 2023. As usual, his playlist features an impressive blend of different music genres, providing an insight into the diverse sounds that kept him grooving throughout the year. In 2022, he expressed his fondness for a variety of artists and their music, including Burna Boy’s “Last Last,” Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” Koffee’s “Pull Up,” and Rema’s “Calm Down.” He also consistently shares his favourite summer tracks each year. For his summer playlist 2023, he thoughtfully included Burna Boy’s “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” and Ayra Starr’s “Sability.”

This year, in his selection, the Afrobeats genre is adequately represented, with some notable tracks like “Unavailable” by Davido and Musa Keys, “Me & U” by Tems, and the Grammy-nominated “Amapiano” by Asake and Olamide. The talented Burna Boy, featured on Obama’s 2022 list, makes another appearance with his song “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” featuring 21 Savage.
