Bashir Ahmad Reacts As Davido Takes Down Post From Page; Backlash Over Video Continues
Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has reacted to the decision of popular singer and record label head David Adeleke, aka Davido, to remove the snippet clip from the contentious video of his signee, Logos Olori’s new single “Jaye Lo,” which he shared on Twitter.
The well-known singer posted a video of some people dancing and praying in front of a mosque. Many criticized the video harshly and demanded that the singer take it down and apologize to Muslims for “disrespecting” their religion.
After initially ignoring the grumblings, Davido deleted the “offensive” video, as Ahmad put it, from his page over the weekend. The Kano-born politician and former House of Representatives candidate responded to the development by tweeting that it was encouraging to hear that Davido had “deleted the offensive and hurtful video.”
“Hopefully, the entire scene will also be deleted from the actual footage before releasing it to the market, and we humbly urge that the same grave mistake should never happen again from him or anyone else,” “Let’s strive to listen with empathy, understand with an open heart, and respect each other’s values and beliefs…”
