Blaqbonez, Tyla, And Ayra Starr Are Among Variety’s Best Dressed Guests At The Grammy Awards

Notable African performers and celebrities were included in Variety’s list of the best-dressed attendees of the 66th Grammy Awards.

Ayra Starr, Folake Olowofoyeku, Blaqbonez, Tyla, and Hannatu Musawa were featured on Variety Entertainment’s Best Dressed Looks from the 2024 Grammy Awards. The South African singer Tyla won the Best African Music Performance award during the event on February 4, 2024.

Even though Nigerian musicians were eliminated from winning in every category, they nevertheless showed up immaculately attired. Hannatu Musawa, Nigeria’s Minister of Art and Culture, looked lovely in a black gown adorned with jewels and a green gele (native scarf).

Creative director Sebastien Day (Visionary Bash) fashioned the stylish black suit that Nigerian artist Blaqbonez was wearing. It had a design of a snake.

American fashion designer Candice Cuoco created a pale blue two-piece costume that Ayra Starr wore to the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Tyla donned a Donatella Versace Atelier dress that was constructed to order in more than 230 hours. Georgette was used to create the flowing drapery of the Versace gown. Over a one-sleeve nude base with crystal net, it also featured crystal embroidered embellishments and micro-draping.

When Tyla accepted the Best African Music Performance Grammy at age 22, she was wearing the Versace gown. Furthermore, she claimed she never imagined herself receiving a Grammy at that age.
