With the Headies awards nominations list released and considering the ongoing beef between blaqbonez and TG Omori, netizens have taken different sides for the sparring sides recently.

According to well-known music video director TG Omori, rapper Blaqbonez is berating him on social media to stay relevant in the music business. He claimed that Blaqbonez’s career has taken off better since they started sparring online. Remember how Blaqbonez and TG Omori fell out when the rapper decided to direct the music video for his famous song “Back In Uni” on his own rather than pay Omori’s exorbitant fee?

According to TG Omori, who appeared on the most recent episode of the “Zero Conditions” podcast, Blaqbonez can banter with him on social media as long as he stays within reasonable bounds. Even though Blaqbonez had before said in an interview that he was a more excellent producer than TG, TG Omori said he still holds the title of top music video director in the nation.

He said,

“Blaqbonez is just trying to use me to prosper. And he is my guy, so I will let him shine. ‘Emeka must shine.’

“Blaqbonez’s biggest video was the TG Omori’s banter; ‘Back In Uni.’ Everybody was trying to watch the video because he added TG. If you can’t afford TG Omori, you use TG Omori’s name. It’s understandable. He is my guy; not like we hang out or something. But so long as he has not been disrespectful to me, let the young n*gga shine. His career has gone up since the whole banter thing, I told him to give me 10%. But I would let it slide because we rise by lifting others.”

At the 16th Headies Awards, Blaqbonez and TG Omori are both up for “Best Music Video” honours. At the same time, TG Omori was nominated for directing the music video for Fireboy DML feat. Asake’s song “Bandana,” and Blaqbonez was nominated for co-directing the music video for his song “Back In Uni.” Their nomination in the same category generated a social media argument about who was more dominant between them and their followers.
