Burna Boy’s Lagos Show Faces Controversy
Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Burna Boy’s Lagos Show faced controversy.
Nigerians have become accustomed to watching their favourite artists come late to shows and only take the stage when it is convenient for them. While the performers have gotten so much criticism for this, they have, in turn, blamed show promoters for causing the delay.
Indeed, no one knows what goes on behind the curtains, but someone has to get telling the truth. Burna Boy’s latest concert in Lagos was expected to be one of the best shows to kick off the new year. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. The event instead took an unexpected turn.
According to concert-goers, Burna shows up late to the stage. Reports reveal that the concert was scheduled to start at 6 pm, but Burna took the stage at 3:30 am. The Grammy winner also did not issue an apology for the delay but claimed that he would have left the event if not for street Hop artist Seyi Vibez.
He also claimed that Nigerians dislike him because many false rumours have been spread about him and his family in the past. Fans took to Twitter to express their distaste, and fingers seem to be pointing at Burna.
The situation on ground.
Almost 2AM and Burna Boy’s concert is basically yet to start.
Some people have been around since 9PM.
For an artists with the highest level of international exposure this is beyond terrible and unprofessional. pic.twitter.com/nL3v6FRnV5

The band is playing and Burna Boy appears on stage at 3:30.
All is forgiven and the crowd cheers.
No lesson learnt.
Goodnight guys and happy new year.

I’m not a fan of Burna Boy, so I guess this insult wasn’t directed to me but anyway thank you @burnaboy for proving to everyone why I never liked you nor your music. pic.twitter.com/4xbAcOMYhj
