Cher’s Son Strikes Back In Conservatorship Dispute

Elijah Blue Allman, Cher’s son, is allegedly retaliating against his mother in their conservatorship dispute.

People Magazine, which has access to court records pertaining to the case, has reported that Allman objected to Cher’s request for a temporary conservatorship last Tuesday, April 9. In his objection, the son of Cher and her second husband, Gregg Allman, expressed his belief that his mother would be “unfit to serve” and that he does not require a conservatorship.

Cher is pushing for legal action because of Allman’s history of addiction and allegations that he might not be psychologically sound. He went on to say that he would prefer to handle his own issues and that he has already started by hiring an accounting firm and legal counsel to assist him with money management.

The latest information on the case follows rumors that surfaced in January, confirming that Cher had been denied a temporary conservatorship over her son by the Los Angeles Superior Court twice. The court postponed her decision at the January 5 hearing because Allman’s counsel had not had enough time to prepare their case.

The hearing for the prior request for a “emergency conservatorship” was held on January 29. Judge Jessica A. Uzcategui of Los Angeles Superior Court continued by stating that at a subsequent hearing later in the year, she would take into consideration a “larger, long-term conservatorship.”
