Cyndi Lauper Sells Pophouse A Majority Share Of Her Music Rights

Legendary American singer, Cyndi Lauper, has sold most of the rights to her collection of songs.

In an attempt to give her fans something new, the 70-year-old “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” singer sold the rights to Pophouse, a Swedish company run by former Universal Music Sweden president Per Sundin. Her recorded music income and the majority of her publishing portion are included in the arrangement. She doesn’t have any Broadway music on it.

Swedish House Mafia and Avicii have also sold their rights to Pophouse, which was established in 2014 by ABBA vocalist Björn Ulvaeus and businessman Conni Jonsson. The organization is well-known for attempting, through imaginative events and installations, such as London’s ABBA Voyage, to enhance the value of the rights it acquires.

It also oversees the Stockholm-based Avicii Experience museum and is collaborating with KISS on their upcoming avatar production. Pophouse and Lauper will collaborate to create creative activations centered around Lauper’s repertoire, which includes well-known songs like “Time After Time,” “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and “True Colors.”

Additionally, Cyndi Lauper expresses her satisfaction with the partnership via an official statement. Pophouse also stated that Lauper’s Broadway music is not included in the agreement. The deal’s financial details were kept under wraps.
