Dame Dash Legal Woes Linger As He Seeks Help Paying For Legal Representation

In a lawsuit worth millions brought by photographer Monique Bunn, Dame Dash is knees deep in more legal problems than he anticipated. As per court records that have circulated in the media, he has disregarded the terms of his representation agreement with Sanders Roberts LLP.  As attorneys for the New York City native, Damon Dash Studios, Poppington LLC, and Raquel Horn, they have submitted a move to withdraw from the case. The firm asserts that none of the co-defendants have complied with their contractual duties and that Dash in particular has failed to pay them as stipulated in a retainer agreement, leading to enforcement proceedings against everybody involved.

Felton T. Newell, a partner at the business, further stated that although they invested a great deal of time, effort, and money in defending Dame Dash, he is far behind on his legal fees. It seems that Sanders Roberts LLP no longer feels qualified to represent him or his objectives because of how severely this relationship collapsed. Xavier Robert Donaldson, a lawyer, is still representing the Roc-A-Fella executive, so even if the court grants the motion, he will still have representation. The court will hear this request on May 28, 2024.

For those who don’t know, Monique Bunn and her attorney, Christopher Brown, filed this lawsuit in April 2019. In accordance with the story, Bunn stayed at Dame Dash’s Los Angeles residence for a Poppington brand picture shoot. The photographer said that the executive had behaved inappropriately and had illegally kept a hard drive containing more than 100,000 pictures of celebrities. He was found not guilty of any allegations of sexual assault, but Bunn was awarded $30,000 for defamation due to his libel.

But now, in an attempt to get her “rightful recompense” for property damage, the photographer and her lawyer are requesting additional action from the court, requesting a new trial. In addition, Bunn is suing Dash and his spouse for $1 million over a different defamation case in which they purportedly called her a crook for making fraudulent credit card purchases in a video. Given that he has already lost two lawsuits against Brown, he has rejected all allegations and believes Brown is attempting to blackmail him. The court counsel for the 52-year-old believes that these are all attempts to coerce and misuse the court system in order to garner media attention because of the past history of the executive. Netizens continue to follow updates on the case.
