Davido And Burna Boy Score Wins At The 41st International Reggae And World Music Awards

The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale hosted the lively 41st International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) celebration on March 22, 2024.

With the theme “Reggae Rise,” this special edition supported health awareness campaigns in addition to showcasing outstanding musical talent. Nigerian sensations Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid were among the winners of the evening with their well-deserved awards.

The award for Best Afrobeat Entertainer went to Wizkid, who is renowned for his contagious Afrobeat beats and captivating stage presence. His enormous global fame and impact in the world of African music are cemented by this victory. Davido also scored a win for his work with Teejay on the hit single, “Drift.” For that he got an award for Best Collaborated Song.

On the other hand, the award for Best African Entertainer went to Burna Boy, who is well-known for fusing dancehall, reggae, and Afrobeat in a unique way. He has unquestionably gained him a devoted following and widespread recognition because to his ability to captivate audiences with his poignant lyrics and beautiful melodies.

As is already known, Wiz, Burna and Davido are key pioneers of the Afrobeats movement, a genre that has swept the globe in recent years. The genre’s increasing international prominence and influence is demonstrated by their victories at the recently-concluded IRAWMA awards.
