Davido Speaks On Election Results And Tribunal Ruling
Nigerian music icon David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed his opinions regarding the recent court ruling on the Nigerian presidential election. The talented musician claimed that such results could be achieved only through electoral fraud or rigging. His comments come amid concerns over the fairness and transparency of the Nigerian electoral process, which allegations of rigging and irregularities have marred.
Following the February 25th presidential election, Peter Obi filed a petition challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu. However, on September 6, 2019, the Presidential Election Tribunal upheld the victory of President Tinubu and dismissed Peter Obi’s entire petition. This decision confirms President Tinubu’s win and serves as a significant milestone in the country’s political landscape.
After a series of petitions filed by the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the court has ruled in favour of Tinubu, who was declared the President with approximately one-third of the votes. The petitions included allegations of irregularities during the election. The ruling means that Tinubu has triumphed over his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
