Davido’s Aide, Lati DMW, Issues An Apology And Provides Compensation To The Assaulted Fan
Lati, Davido’s aide, has apparently intervened to make up for an incident wherein he allegedly struck a fan who tried to approach the musician. Some recent clips that have been making the rounds online show Davido’s aide, Lati, fighting with fans.
In one such video, Lati is said to have punched a fan who was trying to take a picture of Davido on their phone while he was walking with his entourage. A young man began yelling Davido’s name nonstop, appearing overjoyed to have seen the musician. The fan was shooed away when he tried to get the Afrobeats artist to appear in a video he was recording on his phone.
Unsatisfied, the persistent fan approached Davido again to capture a decent picture, only to receive a hard slap that forced him out of the frame. On social media, particularly X, there has been a chorus of disapproval following the incident. It also sparked discussions on the boundaries and interactions between celebrities and fans.
On Thursday, February 15, 2024, Temitopepr, a social media user on X, posted a screenshot showing that Lati had apologized by transferring ₦200,000 in money to the fan’s account. Temitopepr wrote in the caption that Lati contacted the fan using a burner account, apologizing and offering money.
