French Montana Rocks Agbada As Netizens React; Gets Yoruba Names

Rapper French Montana, a Moroccan-American, has acquired new names and salutations due to his decision to embrace Nigerian culture. The rapper recently travelled to Nigeria with Swae Lee to film a music video for the song “Coming For The Summer Time” with Nigerian musician Lojay.

French Montana was styled in Agbada for the music video, which he slayed in and gave off a “bad boy” vibe. French was dressed in an elegant white Agbada for the video shoot. He posted a picture of himself wearing an agbada on social media with the caption:

“SHE SAID SHE ONLY FXXK WITH NIGERIANS

In reaction, Nigerians flooded his comment section to suggest Yoruba names befitting the ‘Unforgettable’ rapper’s status.

French Montana had previously thanked Afrobeat musician Davido for the incredible hospitality he had received from the musician while visiting the nation. Montana shared videos on his Instagram Stories thanking Davido for lending him his security team and cars after experiencing the memorable moments he had captured.

One of the recorded online videos showed the rapper receiving a grand welcome when he arrived at the airport. It emphasized the warmth and anticipation surrounding the rapper’s visit to the big city. He was seen in another video enjoying the vibrant nightlife with fellow rapper Swae Lee and popular Nigerian performer Lojay. They created quite a buzz among partygoers and club patrons alike.

In a second short clip at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the 38-year-old rap artist thanked his entourage and security personnel for making his stay comfortable. Nigeria, according to French Montana, “was everything he needed.” He said,

“Yo mehn! Shout out to my brother, Davido! Davido, serve it up! My guys, you know what I’m saying?  Davido gave me his spaceships in Nigeria. Appreciate you, my guy.”
