Ghanaian Pop Artist, Kuami Eugene, Wounded In Auto Crash

Kuami Eugene, a Ghanaian pop musician, is recovering following a Sunday car accident.

Local reporter Emmanuel Ajarfor Abugri, who was present, verified the incident. Abugri reports that the accident happened at approximately 11.30 p.m. in Accra, close to Achimota, when Kuami Eugene’s car collided with a tipper truck on the highway.

Although there were no recorded deaths, there were injuries. According to Abugri, the 2020 signing of Lynx Entertainment, who signed a contract with American distribution giant EMPIRE, looked to have suffered cuts, a fractured arm, and a hip injury.

The musician was taken right away to the University of Ghana Medical Center together with an unnamed male passenger. Abugri blamed the accident on the tipper truck’s lack of tail lights and the N1 Highway’s poor lighting, which made it difficult to see when the musician rear-ended it because it was moving slowly.

After receiving treatment for his injuries, Kuami Eugene is allegedly in good spirits, however the artist’s management has not yet issued a formal statement. The collision involving Kuami Eugene continues a worrisome pattern of traffic accidents across Ghana.

Similar conditions led to a car tragedy on the Kwabenya expressway in Accra last September involving fellow Ghanaian artist Wendy Shay.
