Jay Jay Okocha’s ‘All White’ Birthday Party In Lagos Is Attended By Timaya, Yobo, And Other Ex-Nigerian Players

Great African footballers gathered for a large celebration in Lagos to honor the 50th birthday of former great Nigerian midfielder Jay Jay Okocha. On August 14, the former footballer turned a new age. Okocha is regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest football idols, and his outstanding performances on the field cemented his place in the nation’s sporting history.

Notably, he was a key member of the Super Eagles team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994 and contributed significantly to Nigeria’s gold-medal victory in the Olympic football competition in Atlanta in 1996. Jay Jay Okocha’s 50th birthday was attended by a long list of former African football legends.

Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo, Asamoah Gyan of Ghana, and Khalilou Fadiga of Senegal were also present. Ex-Nigerian footballers such Peter Rufai, Ifeanyi Udeze, Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Emenike, Julius Aghahowa, and Joseph Yobo were also in attendance. Timaya, a music star, was also present.

The celebration included an exhibition football play at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, in which the former internationals demonstrated their skills in a five-a-side game to the pleasure of the stadium’s supporters.

Okocha was a showman in his prime, shining in the Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, and Turkish Superlig. The 49-year-old was noted for his showmanship and brilliant play, and he is alleged to have tutored a young Ronaldinho while at PSG.
