Joeboy Pays Homage To The Legendary Nigerian Musician In His Exciting New Single, “Osadebe”
Joeboy has released his eagerly awaited new single “Osadebe,” marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life. With this new single, the Lagos-based polymath officially launches his new label, Young Legend, in collaboration with Warner Music Africa, further solidifying his status as a trailblazing artist in Nigerian music.
“Osadebe” is a smooth record produced by K-Dreamz featuring themes of introspection and affirmation. Osadebe honors the late Chief Osita Osadebe’s legendary hit “Osondi Owendi,” a cultural hymn that ruled the music landscape in the southeast and south-south regions of Nigeria in the early 2000s, while delving into themes of self-reflection and affirmative statements.
Additionally, on the new single, he reiterates his resolve to live according to his terms. Joeboy has faced criticism for his reserve, since he would rather live a low-key existence away from the spotlight and celebrity attention. Joeboy reiterated on “Osadebe” his wish to lead a low-key life and let his accomplishments and music speak for itself.
Since his breakthrough song “Baby” in 2019 propelled him into the spotlight, Joeboy has been at the forefront of Nigerian music. After two albums, two EPs, and numerous hit songs, Joeboy’s “Osadebe” marks the beginning of what should be another incredible year.
