Joeboy Performs Under Rain Showers To Sold-Out Dominican Crowd At Music Festival
Nigerian singer and song-writer Joeboy is in the news following his fantastic performance in the Caribbeans. Although this was Joeboy’s second opportunity to play in the region, it was his first true opportunity as the last time he was there, he was unable to provide the performance that he had hoped for, as his set was interrupted due to his DJ using words that weren’t appreciated by the crowd. At the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival on May 13, he performed; however, his performance was abruptly cut short after his DJ cursed on stage.
According to reports, the Afrobeat superstar Joeboy had to overcame illness to play at the 2023 World Creole Music Festival at Windsor Park Stadium in Dominica. Joeboy performed to an engaged crowd at around four in the early hours, captivating them with his entertaining show. The show took another turn as the sudden and unexpected downpour saw all of his admirers turned out and stand in the rain with him to witness his debut performance at the Dominican music festival. With his amazing catalogue including newer hit tunes, he entertained the crowd at the music festival with a relish and vigour.
Speaking to the media following his outstanding performance, he expressed his gratitude for being a part of the festival and for the opportunity to perform for such a receptive and enthralling audience. He thanked the audience for their unwavering support even though his show had to be postponed while he got medical attention. Joeboy hailed the country in the Caribbean, describing it as a stunning location.
He considered it a true blessing and an honor to play for such a passionate audience at such a large festival. He also talked about his background, how he began in a modest studio in Lagos, and how music has allowed him to connect with his fans in the Dominica despite distances of thousands of miles.
