Kamaru Usman Makes His Entrance Into The UFC Fight Against Leon Edwards To The Music Of Burna Boy
During his introduction into his battle with Leon Edwards, Nigerian professional mixed martial artist Kamarudeen Usman used a song by Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy. Kamaru entered with Burna Boy’s verse on the popular song “Yaba Buluku” to reclaim the welterweight title against Leon Edwards on March 19, 2022, in the main event of the UFC 286 at the 02 Arena in London.
At UFC 286 in London, Leon Edwards triumphed in their three-fight series to stop their rivalry and adequately protect his welterweight title. Since defeating Usman with a last-second knockout to earn the welterweight championship in August, Edwards was attempting to make the first defense of his belt. However, as the trilogy fight began, the London audience filled The O2 arena with chants of “Headshot, dead” in support of the home fighter.
Both fighters were hesitant in the opening round, but Edwards struck hard immediately, injuring Usman with a body kick before the latter recovered. Next, Usman was knocked out by a potent combination that Edwards put together, but “The Nigerian Nightmare” returned and stunned Edwards with a jab before first bringing him down. In the final round, where the fight was evenly matched, Edwards attempted to land his trademark head kick, but Usman successfully blocked him this time.
The applause inspired Edwards to keep putting together some sharp combos. Edwards defended admirably, kept the fight standing, and saw out the match before Usman was awarded the victory despite Usman’s continuous takedown attempts.
