After falling out over the former’s assertion that the latter’s influence led him down the anti-Semitic path, Kanye West and his old friend Ice Cube have patched things up once more. The two giants were seen greeting each other outside the Cube’s home in Marina Del Rey, California, by giving hugs and grinning.
The Donda hitmaker wore a black short-sleeve shirt with black jeans, and they were both seen smiling broadly. The 53-year-old, on the other hand, sported a black sweatshirt, jeans, and Nike sneakers, finishing the ensemble with his recognizable L.A. Dodgers baseball cap.
The two appeared to have a chilly relationship after the Grammy winner accused Cube of being anti-Semitic seven months ago, which may have contributed to their recent reunion. The divisive rapper claimed in October on the Drink Champs podcast that the “It Was A Good Day” rapper “really influenced” him to “get on this anti-Semite vibe.”
The Friday star quickly denied the 45-year-old’s claims.
“I hate that my name was dragged into this Drunk Champs ****.”
“I don’t know what Ye meant by his statements; you’re gonna have to ask him. I didn’t put the batteries in his back. Please leave my name out of all the antisemitic talk. I’m not antisemitic and never have been.”
West, a father of four, was banned from Instagram and Twitter due to his anti-Semitic remarks. Ye earlier threatened to commit “death cons three on Jewish people” and accused them of trying to “blackball” him for defying their purported goal. Due to his divisive comments, the Chicagoan’s relationships with Adidas and Gap were severed.
Ye’s followers will be pleased with least by this reunion because their favorite has had a difficult few years and lost family and fortune. They will be hoping that this move will be a sign of better conflict resolution measures to be taken by the Star.
