Laycon Reveals Why He Went On A Brief Music Hiatus

Olamilekan Agbeleshe, also known as Laycon, who won Big Brother Naija Season 5 gave an explanation for his absence from music lately. Laycon claimed that he took a break from music because it was “no longer fun.” This was said by Laycon in a recent interview with well-known media figure J. Malone. The ‘Fierce’ crooner claimed that he began performing music at a young age.

Laycon claimed he has always loved singing and has done so since he was a young child. He claimed that his desire to sing came from simply listening to other people’s music. He admitted that he didn’t consider making mine till he was around 13 years old. He claims that he just swapped his lyrics for those of the musicians of his favorite records.

According to him, he continued to exploit their rhythms and flows, and that is when he began to compose music. Then, he brought us back to his first music releases, saying that he began doing so in 2012, right after enrolling in college. But his ‘The Young, Black, and Gifted’ EP, his first significant work, was released in 2016.

Hopefully Laycon shakes off this funk and releases some new songs for the fans. But until then, we truly hope he is doing alright.
