Lil Nas X Has Released Information On His Latest Documentary, ‘Long Live Montero’
Fans are going to receive their most close glimpse yet at Lil Nas X’s life and career, as the singer is about to release a documentary about his first world tour. Lil Nas X announced the official international premiere of his new documentary Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero on Friday (Aug. 18).
The project, which chronicles his life on the road during the Long Live Montero tour, is due to premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival, which begins on September 7. The documentary, directed by Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel, follows Lil Nas X — aka Montero Hill — as he embarks on his “emotional oddessy” first-ever global tour.
Aside from behind-the-scenes looks at his outstanding performances, the diaristic film promises an intimate look at Lil Nas X as he examines his identity, family, expectations, and acceptance, as well as his place in the tradition of Black, LGBT entertainers. TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey discussed the movie and termed it “a triumphant ode to the extraordinary power of self-expression,” as well as expressing his eagerness for viewers to see it.
Lil Nas X halted a live performance in Sweden earlier this summer after a fan tossed a sex toy on stage. The incident took place as the ‘Montero’ artist was on stage during Lollapalooza Stockholm’s final day, according to The Independent.
