Wizkid And Justin Bieber Join Tems For An Unexpected Performance At Coachella 2024
Coachella 2024 saw a momentous occasion as Justin Bieber, Tems, and Wizkid performed their popular song “Essence” in an unexpected set. In the middle of the star-studded schedule that included Doja Cat, Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Justin Bieber, Bieber’s surprise arrival thrilled the audience and marked his victorious comeback after his health struggles.
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Tems recruited the help of one of the biggest music artists, Justin Bieber, for one of the most important occasions in her career. Sunday night (April 14) at Coachella 2024, the Nigerian singer-songwriter and composer took the crowd by surprise by asking Justin Bieber and Wizkid to come on stage with her to perform their hit song “Essence.”
“Essence” was first released in 2020 and featured Bieber and fellow Afrobeats sensation Wizkid. It progressively gained popularity and appeared on Billboard’s rankings nine months after its release. Tems made history in September 2021 when “Essence” dominated Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, marking a huge milestone for the artist.
The song became the first Afrobeats single to reach the top 10 (peaking at No. 9) on the Billboard Hot 100. Famous for his chart-topping success, Bieber made history in 2021 when he became the youngest solo artist to ever have 100 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
