Man Arrested For Impersonating Police Officer To Get Into Megan Thee Stallion Concert

According to a story from the local outlet KHOU 11 (via Complex), the 28-year-old fan, Trayvone Lil Darus Stevenson, was detained at one of the rapper’s headlining concerts after pretending to be a police officer. The performance occurred on Friday, March 31, at the March Madness Music Festival’s opening concert in Houston. Reports claim that Stevenson was wearing a jacket that said “Police K-9” when apprehended at the scene. Later, he was charged with impersonating a public official, a crime. However, following court records, Trayvon Stevenson, 28, who arrived at the performance wearing a vest labeled “Police K-9” and claimed to be a police officer so he could attend the show, was instead “permitted to go to jail.”

The fan was released after receiving a $20,000 (£16,045) bond from Harris County Judge Danilo Lacayo, according to a separate report on Monday (April 3) by KTRK. Following the agreement, a prosecutor named Mathew Jackson made a statement to the neighborhood publication warning followers of the repercussions of impersonating a public official. Although Megan Thee Stallion is a fantastic, well-known draw, particularly in Houston, he insisted that this case was still a felony. “You cannot pose as a police officer to enter a concert venue.” To attend Megan Thee Stallion’s sold-out performance at Discovery Green on Friday, the Houston barber allegedly claimed to be working security as a K-9 police officer.

After a jury found Tory Lanez guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020, entertainment industry members came forward in support of her last year. After a nine-day trial, Lanez was found guilty of all three counts brought against him: one count of assault with a semiautomatic weapon, one count of concealing a loaded, unregistered firearm in a moving vehicle, and one count of negligent discharge of a firearm.
