Nicki Minaj Asserts That ‘Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe)’ Won’t Have A Complete Release Until Rihanna’s Vocals Are In

On December 8, Nicki Minaj’s 41st birthday, her album Pink Friday 2 was officially released. And by so doing, she became the first female rapper with three projects to reach the top of the charts when the new album eventually peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The rapper revealed the deluxe edition the day it was released. She announced that beginning on Tuesday, December 12, a single would be put out every day until its December 15 release. But when the deluxe version of the album appeared on streaming services, two of the four tracks that were promised were glaringly absent.

However, on Wednesday night, Minaj, on her Instagram story, appeared to give her reason to the cause, saying Rihanna’s vocals would have to come in first.

Notably, Rihanna and Minaj initially worked together on Pink Friday, the artist’s 2010 first album. Their collaboration on the video “Fly” has garnered 189 million views on YouTube since its release 12 years ago. 2012 saw the record get a platinum certification from the RIAA.

Meanwhile, some of the A-list artists that featured on Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 were Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Drake, and Lil Uzi Vert. In addition, “Beep Beep (Remix)” featuring 50 Cent and “Love Me Enough,” featuring Keyshia Cole and Monica, were among the newly added tracks.
