Nicole Scherzinger To Mark Broadway Debut With The Musical “Sunset Boulevard”

Nicole Scherzinger is prepared for her big broadway debut. A forthcoming Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Sunset Boulevard will have The Masked Singer panelist reprising her title role as Norma Desmond.

On Thursday morning (Jan. 4), word leaked out about director Jamie Lloyd’s next production of the popular London musical, which has songs and a book by Don Black and Christopher Hampton.

Along with Olivier Award winner David Thaxton (as Max Von Mayerling) and her co-stars from London, Tom Francis (as Joe Gillis) and Grace Hodgett-Young (as Betty Schaefer), will accompany Scherzinger on broadway.

Based on Billy Wilder’s well-known 1950 Hollywood black comedy of the same name, the musical narrates the tale of faded silent cinema star Desmond, who lives in a run-down house in Los Angeles and dreams of making a return in movies after meeting young screenwriter Gillis.

A plethora of stage and film stars have taken on the scenery-chewing title role in the musical since its 1993 West End debut in London. These stars include Patti LuPone, Glenn Close, Diahann Carroll, and, in 2023, former Pussycat Dolls member Scherzinger, who will star in the show’s third West End revival.

The 2024 Broadway Sunset Boulevard production’s dates, venue, and additional cast members were unknown at the time of publication.
