North Carolina Honors J Cole With Mural Amidst Kendrick Lamar Feud

J. Cole, the renowned rapper from Fayetteville, North Carolina, is a hometown hero who has always shown love for his community through his music and actions. Recently, his hometown honoured him with a stunning mural on the side of a record store in downtown Fayetteville. The mural, created by acclaimed New York-based graffiti artist Andulaz The Artist, features a breathtaking portrait of J. Cole alongside the words “Welcome to Fayetteville.” Fans of the rapper have praised the mural as a fitting tribute to his countless achievements.

The timing of the mural couldn’t have been more perfect, as it coincided with J. Cole’s highly anticipated annual Dreamville Fest. The festival, which runs throughout the weekend, features an impressive lineup of rap superstars, including Cole himself, Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent, and ScHoolboy Q. According to the label’s official website, the festival generates millions of dollars for the local economy each year. In fact, the festival reportedly generated a staggering $145 million in 2023 alone.

J. Cole is not only a talented musician but also a philanthropist who has given back to his community in numerous ways. In recognition of his charitable efforts, North Carolina declared March 1st “J. Cole Day” back in 2012. Moreover, in 2016, he released the documentary J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming on HBO, which chronicles his journey from his hometown to international stardom. Despite J. Cole’s immense success, he is currently entangled in a feud with Kendrick Lamar. On the recent track “Like That,” Lamar took shots at Cole and Drake, leading some fans to anticipate a response from the Fayetteville rapper. However, Cole has not publicly acknowledged the diss, even though he released a new project, “Might Delete Later,” that many seem to believe might be his response.
