Pledis Entertainment Launch New Boy Band; Presents TWS With “OH MYMY: 7S.”
Pledis Entertainment, one of the leading South Korean entertainment companies, has unveiled their latest boyband, TWS, and dropped their first pre-release single, ‘OH MYMY: 7S,’ on January 2, 2022. The song and its accompanying visuals showcase the band’s six members, Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin, as they express their anxiety and excitement while preparing for their upcoming debut.
TWS’s upcoming debut will mark Pledis Entertainment’s first launch of a new boy band in approximately nine years, creating a lot of anticipation and excitement among their fans. The pre-release came two months after the music label confirmed plans to debut TWS to the Korean press, although the line-up and name of the group were not disclosed at the time. TWS, an abbreviation of Twenty Four Seven With Us, will be Pledis Entertainment’s first launch of a new K-pop act since 2016, when they debuted the short-lived girl group PRISTIN. It’ll also be their first new all-male group since SEVENTEEN, which debuted in May 2015, making it a significant milestone for the entertainment company and the K-Pop industry.
The visuals include footage of the group practising choreographies and recording songs, showing fans their hard work and dedication. The song features the group’s monthly evaluation, where a panel consisting of SEVENTEEN, HYBE founder and chairman Bang Si-hyuk, SEVENTEEN producer BUMZU, and more provides feedback on their performance. Later in the music video, the band performs the track on a street with European-style architecture, adding a touch of elegance to the overall visuals. The song’s upbeat rhythm and catchy lyrics make it an instant hit among K-pop fans worldwide.
