Ruger Allegedly Exits Jonzing World To Launch His Own Record Company

Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known by his stage name Ruger, is a Nigerian musician and composer who has launched his own record company, Blown Boy Ent.

The news was made on Friday, January 19, 2024, via Ruger’s Instagram story. The musician hinted at the impending release of a new single under the Blown Boy label by tagging his new record label, @blownboyent, in a brief video that included a freestyle.

The label’s name has also been reflected in the ‘Asiwaju’ hit-maker’s Instagram bio.

Fans are excited about Ruger’s next releases and the unique musical journey he will take with Blown Boy Ent, even though the artist has not formally announced his departure from his previous record company, Jonzing World. D’Prince, his record label boss, has also not made a statement on the matter.

Ruger is a rapidly emerging vocalist who has penned several popular songs and never stops wowing audiences with his incredible voice and beat. He became widely recognized for the song “Bounce” and in 2021 he secured a record contract with Jonzing World. Pandemic, his debut EP, was also released in 2021.

In addition, Ruger’s number-one hit, “Asiwaju,” was the most streamed music on Spotify in Sub-Saharan Africa as of 2023, confirming its popularity as a hit song throughout the continent.
