Rema Responds To Ronaldo Posting His Global Smash “Calm Down”

The talented Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, has responded to a recent gesture made by well-known footballer Ronaldo in his song. The Mavin/Jonzing World act, which has achieved career milestone after career milestone, continues to function at the highest level of the “Afrobeats to the World” movement. It was recently one of the acts performed in the Utah 2023 NBA halftime show.

The singer responded to a video published by renowned Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo on Instagram on March 4, 2023. After Ronaldo posted the video online, Rema expressed his appreciation for how Ronaldo’s children had danced to his hit song “Calm” in the video. Rema added this caption to the video: “The GOAT Ronaldo posted my song.”

This exciting news comes a few days after “Calm Down” was certified platinum in the UK, where it has spent several weeks on its official singles chart. The lead track from his debut album “Rave & Roses,” released on February 11, 2022, quickly rose to domestic and international success. The song has amassed over a billion streams across all platforms, demonstrating its enormous digital success. Also, it holds the record for YouTube’s most-watched Afrobeats music video.

The song later received a Selena Gomez remix, catapulting it to global prominence. ‘Calm Down’ peaked at No. 5 on the UK Official Singles Chart. It peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts as well.
