Rema Speaks On Senior Colleagues And Cautioning Their Fans For “Sake Of Peace” Amongst Artists
The music business is a dynamic environment filled with outstanding talent from several performers. One such entertainer is Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, an Afrobeats prodigy. Rema recently urged other musicians to prevent their supporters from inciting them against the younger performers. Instead, he asked the up-and-coming performers to respect the pioneers and persuade their fans to do the same.
Rema’s regard for all musicians in the business and his desire to be appreciated are shown in this call. Rema believes that all artists should be respected, no matter their age or experience. He likens artists to family members and adds that it is necessary to encourage each other and “grow together.”
He said:
“I have so much respect for the OGs in the game, and I don’t like my fans comparing & trying to put me against them. The peace among Afrobeats artists is one of the reasons why the genre is where it is today. I always caution my fans when they compare me to my Big Bros, and I expect every artiste to do the same when they see their fans trying to spark up problematic conversations”.
Rema claims that he respects everyone in the industry, especially famous musicians such as Davido, whom he labeled an OG. However, he stated that he finds it upsetting if his fans attempt to incite animosity between him and an OG online.
