Reminisce Reveals Reasons For Music Break
Veteran hip-hop artist Reminisce from Nigeria has shared the reasons behind his deliberate hiatus from the music industry in recent times. In an interview with Zero Conditions, the artist said that he had decided that his family came first in his professional life. Reminisce revealed that the music was eating up all of his time and that, despite living with his children, he hardly ever saw or noticed changes in his home.
Reminisce made his much-awaited reappearance after seven years with the release of his highly anticipated album “ATSG, Vol. 1.” He said he knew he had to prioritize his children before his art, devoting time to them so he wouldn’t miss out on their lives. In the interview, Reminisce emphasized that he had consciously prioritized his family over his art. He expressed his commitment to being present in their lives and ensuring he wouldn’t miss any critical moments or changes in their upbringing. This shift in focus allowed him to balance his personal and professional lives, ultimately leading to his successful comeback in the music industry.
He said:
“There were times I didn’t see my kids for 4 days but we lived together. When I get back, they’re in school. One of the reasons I actually did take a step back. Let me tell you this story. Some years back, my wife changed the entire setup of our house. It was around that period when I was dropping albums every year and touring. My house painting was changed for almost two years and I didn’t notice. That was when I realised that I need to take a step back and be will my family. Family over everything.”
