Sabinus Called Out For Not Attending Show After “Being Paid” As VeryDarkMan Makes Strong Allegations

Martins Otse, a Nigerian social media activist named ‘VeryDarkMan’, recently made a controversial video on Instagram. He called out popular skitmaker Sabinus for failing to attend an event despite being paid in advance. Otse accused Sabinus of accepting payment for the show, even though he knew he couldn’t participate. He only refunded the organizers at the last minute, disrupting their show and putting them in a difficult position. The video has since gone viral, attracting much attention on social media platforms.

VeryDarkMan revealed that he turned down the opportunity to feature in the music video for Burna Boy and Phyno’s new song, “Do I,” pointing out that the Calabar organizers of the show Sabinus was to attend reached out to him, hence his refusal to partake in the famed video shoot in favour of the Calabar event. He said his decision to decline the music video opportunity showcased his commitment to maintaining “order and ensuring the safety of event organizers.” By choosing not to participate, he prevented any potential disruptions that may have arisen from the presence of disorderly demonstrators and didn’t collect any money until after the show. However, he was surprised to see Sabinus trending as he was pictured with Burna Boy, meaning he ditched the Calabar show for the same music video shoot he (VDM) had turned down.

In addition, he offered evidence to support his charge against Sabinus. He mentioned that the comedian had a history of keeping the audience waiting out of self-interest and pointed out other “Grace-to-grass” examples while buttressing his point. The activist admonished Sabinus—whatever that meant—not to permit others to “shed tears” on his behalf.
