Shatta Wale Laments The Decline Of Ghanaian Music

A group of musicians and business leaders from Ghana, which included Samini and Smallgod, made a recent plea to the government of Ghana on December 14, 2023, requesting that the country’s music be given priority over foreign music on the airwaves. The group made an appearance prior to the Ministry of Information’s most recent press briefing.

The appeal has sparked discussion online and in the Ghanaian industry, with other creatives and entertainers offering their thoughts on the new initiative. One of such entertainers include Shatta Wale, who has always been on the side of Ghanaian music, claims that this new campaign is simply impractical.

According to the controversial Ghanaian singer, the minister’s request during the press briefing was affected by the poor mindset of artists and was ridiculous. Since Black Sherif was formerly a champion of the campaign, many believe this is a direct jab at him, Samini, and the other artists that helped to push the plea.

The Dancehall artist tweeted his opinions about the request, which caught the attention of many internet users who were shocked to see his disparaging comments.
