Simi Unveils Release Date For First Single Of The Year ‘Stranger’

Simi, the renowned Nigerian singer, songwriter, and sound engineer, also known as Simisola Kosoko, has exciting news for her fans. She’s finally announced the release date of her upcoming single, “Stranger,” after a prolonged silence.

In June 2022, the talented singer released her third studio album, ‘ TBH (To Be Honest),’ featuring FAVE and her husband, Adekunle Gold. Since then, she has not released any new music, leaving her fans eager for more. However, the wait is over, as she has finally announced the release date of her first song for 2023. ‘Stranger’ is expected to drop on June 9th, 2023, much to the excitement of her fans.

Last April, the singer of ‘Story Story’ thoughtfully assured her followers that her upcoming album this year would be nothing short of what they expected. She conveyed through her Instastory that despite facing unforeseen obstacles that hindered her from releasing new music as planned, she remains committed to delivering an album that will be worth the wait for her fans.

Simi was a choir member at her local church when she was young and enjoyed dancing. Upon turning ten, she composed her first song. After her debut studio album Ogaju, which featured a range of songs like “Iya Temi” and “Ara Ile,” was released in 2008, she began a career as a professional musician. Samklef handled all of the album’s production. In addition to her most recent project, TBH, she has since released other works like Restless I & II, Chemistry, Simisola, and Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol.

It cannot be denied that Simi’s music has undergone an evolution in sound while still retaining the beloved AfroR&B style that her fans appreciate.
