SZA Offers Her Support For Palestine’s Freedom During Her New Zealand Show

The Palestinian people have been engaged in a deadly struggle with Israel for the past six months, and American singer, SZA, is the latest popular figure to show support for them.

This month, for three nights at Aukland’s Spark Arena, the Top Dawg Entertainment singer’s global SOS Tour stopped in New Zealand. She took a moment to express her solidarity for the thousands of individuals who have suffered as a result of the ongoing bloodshed in Gaza at the last concert on Tuesday, April 16, which included fan favorites from throughout her career.

The 34-year-old is seen yelling, “Free Palestine!” and pointing at someone in the audience in a fan-recorded TikTok video from the performance.

Since Hamas carried out an attack in Israel in October that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, tensions in the area have reached an unprecedented level. The occupied land has been subjected to ceaseless attacks by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) since that time.

As living conditions worsen, the mortality toll from the strip topped 30,000 last month, according to TIME. Most recently, at his headline performance on the first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Tyler, The Creator donned a pin depicting the Palestinian flag.

During his performance at the Odd Future alumni’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival the previous year, redveil advocated for a ceasefire in Gaza.
