AFRIMA, PMAN, And MPAN Hold A Critical Summit On The Nigerian Music Sector

AFRIMA Music Business Summit is hosting an emergency summit of stakeholders today, Sunday, October 1, 2023, in collaboration with the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Record Label Proprietors Initiative (RELPI), Association of Music Artist Managers of Nigeria (AMAMN), and Music Publishers Association of Nigeria (MPAN).

The goal of the summit is to identify and launch long-lasting solutions to critical challenges in the music industry. The summit, which focuses on the revival of the Nigerian hospitality, music, entertainment, arts, and cultural industries, virtually started at 6:00 PM (Nigerian time).

Musicians/artists, record labels, A&R, producers, promoters, artiste’s managers, brands, songwriters, DJs & video vixens, video directors, equipment production and rental companies, publishing companies, streaming service companies, entertainment lawyers, royalty companies, choreographers/dancers, entertainment/music journalists, and media are among the stakeholders who are anticipated to attend the meeting, according to Mike Dada, president of the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA.

Stakeholders are expected to produce suggestions and legislation proposals at the summit’s conclusion to ensure the professionalization of the music and entertainment industries. This meeting’s main goal is to come up with creative solutions and put forward legislation that will help Nigeria’s music and entertainment sector become more professionally run.

These initiatives seek to revive Nigeria’s music, entertainment, arts, and hospitality industries.
