Teyana Taylor Confirms Divorce From Iman Shumpert After A 7-Year Marriage
Teyana Taylor and her husband, Iman Shumpert, have called it quits after ten years of marriage.
On Sunday (September 17), the singer and actress made the stunning announcement on Instagram. The announcement was made alongside a snapshot of the couple evidently enjoying themselves with one another. Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr. and Rue Rose Shumpert Shumpert are the couple’s two daughters.
Iman Shumpert won Dancing With The Stars in 2021, and fans credited Teyana Taylor’s inspiration for the NBA star’s ability to win home the prized Mirror Ball. Taylor’s news comes after reports spread on the internet that the former basketball star was cheating on Taylor.
Fans have also noticed that Taylor and Shumpert, who have been open about their relationship for months, have not attended any events together and have not featured on one other’s social media in months. In June, the “Bare Wit Me” singer wrote Shumpert a surprise birthday letter.
Despite the couple’s public transparency, Teyana exhibited emotional fragility in her Kanye West-produced album K.T.S.E. (Keep That Same Energy) in 2018. According to Pitchfork, one of the album’s songs, ‘Issues/Hold On,’ saw the diva explore all of the terrible sentiments that come with being in love in public.
