To Be “So Good” In The Upcoming “Sexy” Tennis Movie, Zendaya Practiced For Three Months
Zendaya will also star in the upcoming tennis movie Challengers, which is directed by Luca Guadagnino. He discussed how much Zendaya trained for the role in an interview with Variety. At the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night, Guadagnino reportedly told Variety, “She’s wonderful.”
“I mean, wow. We edited the movie and we almost actually don’t use any of her double. She’s so good.” According to reports from Variety, Guadagnino explained Challengers as being a “s*xy comedy.” In June, the production was finished. Brad Gilbert, a former professional tennis player, served as a consultant for the movie according to Variety.
“They spent like three months working very hard,” Guadagnino said. “Everybody – technically, athletically.” Zendaya plays a major role in the new movie “Challengers,” whose director, Luca Guadagnino, said that the protagonists of the movie are characters who are going through a lot of hardships.
“I don’t want to think much about ‘Challengers,’” said Guadagnino as quoted by IndieWire. “I think those three characters in that movie are beautifully complex and really f*cked-up people that I love very much.”
The movie is anticipated to be released on August 11, 2023. Along with Zendaya, other cast members include West Side Story actor Mike Feist and actor Josh O’Connor, best known for his work on the Netflix series The Crown.
