Usher And Victoria Monét Receive Nominations For The 2024 NAACP Image Awards

With six and five nominations, respectively, Victoria Monét and Usher had the most nominations in the music/recording categories for the 2024 NAACP Image Awards. Out of all record labels, RCA Records received the most nominations with 20.

On Saturday, March 16, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and CBS, a two-hour live TV special featuring the winners will be shown. Usher is up against Colman Domingo, Fantasia Barrino, Halle Bailey, and Keke Palmer for the entertainer of the year award.

In the category of outstanding male artist, Usher is up against Jon Batiste, Chris Brown, Burna Boy, and Davido. Monét is up against Tems, Janelle Monáe, Ari Lennox, and H.E.R. for the title of outstanding female artist.

The awards honor excellence in several different categories. The complete list also includes 30 TV/streaming categories, 16 motion picture categories, 9 literary categories, 6 podcast categories, 5 directing categories, 4 writing categories, 3 documentary categories, 3 costume design/make-up/hairstyling categories, and 1 stunt work category.

Here, we concentrate on the nominees in 15 recording categories and 2 general categories. American Fiction, Origin, Rustin, The Color Purple, and They Cloned Tyrone are the nominees for outstanding motion picture.

Only American Fiction received an Academy Award nomination for best picture out of these five movies. With two nominations for Abbott Elementary and The Bear, Ayo Edebiri garnered the most nominations in the television and streaming categories.
