Usher Lands His First Diamond Single Following The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Usher, the R&B singer, has even more reason to celebrate after landing his first-ever diamond record, in addition to his successful Super Bowl halftime show and upcoming marriage. On Friday, February 9, the RIAA certified “Yeah!” 13 times platinum, surpassing the 10 million mark that makes it a diamond record.

Usher has already achieved the elusive 14 million sales mark with his Confessions album, which debuted in 2008. But “Yeah!” is the singer’s first successful track. Ursh’s 2010 smash song “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” may be the next big thing in his diamond mine. It was certified eight times platinum last week, bringing it one step closer to the milestone.

“Yeah!” includes Lil Jon and Ludacris, who performed with Usher during Super Bowl LVIII’s halftime. The song was included in a medley that included some of Usher’s greatest singles from his 30-year career, such as “My Boo,” “Caught Up,” “Burn,” and “OMG.” There were a total of 13 tracks in the performance.

The extravaganza, which included performances by JAY-Z, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift, included intricate dance choreography and even included a roller-skating segment. The 45-year-old also honored the strip club scene in Atlanta by performing Ludacris’ verse from “Yeah!” in front of pole dancers.
