Veteran Nollywood Actress, Rita Edochie, Pays Mr. Ibu A Hospital Visit Following His Leg Amputation
Renowned Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has shown her support for the ailing Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly called Mr. Ibu, by going to visit him at the hospital after a tedious but successful leg amputation procedure. On her Instagram, Rita posted a video of herself at the hospital on Monday following the news of her colleague’s amputation of a leg.
Stella Maris Okafor, Ibu’s wife, graciously thanked the actress for her visit. Rita can also be heard in the video saying some words of prayer for the actor and his family, to which Ibu’s wife responds with “Amen.”
Before now, Ibu’s daughter, Jazmine, had revealed on October 31 that the actor’s health had improved after five fruitful procedures. Jazmine also revealed on Monday, November 6, that the actor had to have his leg amputated after having undergone a total of seven surgeries.
On Tuesday, October 17, the comedic actor celebrated his 63rd birthday at an unnamed hospital in Lagos. The following Wednesday, in an Instagram clip, he openly acknowledged his need for financial support to avoid having his leg amputated. Swooping in to save the day, the Bukola Saraki Foundation intervened by covering the ailing actor’s medical bills, as was announced on October 21.
