Victony Discusses His Artistic Journey In A New Interview

Victony sat down with Mahogany of Cool FM about a bunch of topics, including his most recent smash hit with Babyboy AV, his creative process, and his influences. Victony delved into the true background of his most recent song, Jaga Jaga, which was reportedly made during a recording camp in Ghana.

Vic discussed his transition from rapping to singing, giving special props to Drake, the biggest rapper in the world. He also talked about the idea of weaving singing and rapping together just like the 6 god. In the same vein, Victony took us behind the scenes of his viral hit, Soweto, to show us how it all came together, highlighting its significance as one of his first real foray into Afrobeats.

He did not fail to gave a shout-out to his producer, Tempoe, for inspiring him and giving him the push to finish the song, which launched him into global spotlight.

It must be noted that Victony did have an explosive year with his Soweto track, which featured Don Toliver, Rema, and Tempoe in its super catchy remix. Since then, Vic has continued to maintain a strong presence on the music scene with additional successful songs including his double-pack single My Darling + Angelus and a version of Dolly Parton’s Jolene.
