African celebrities such as Wizkid, Asake, Black Sherif, BNXN, and a slew of others were among the performers at the ongoing 2023 Afro Nation in Portugal. Since its debut in 2013, the worldwide recognized festival has continued its annual tradition, taking the celebration around the world, including the other continent, Africa.

The second-day event, held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, featured a scorching performance by Ghanaian phenomenal rapper Black Sherif, who performed an intense performance of songs such as Sad Boys Don’t Fold, Kweku the Traveler, and others.

As the tempo of the evening increased, YBNL and Empire neo-fuji sensation Asake arrived to the stage with a spectacular entrance by riding a bicycle into the stage. As expected, the crowd was ecstatic to see the bursting performer.

Asake delivered an electrifying performance in a set that included hits like Sungba, Loaded, Dull, Joha, Amapiano, 2:30, Palazzo, Organize, and others. The singer let his adrenaline take over and rushed into the crowd, after which he was joyously carried by the fans, signalling acceptance.

The night was topped off with a spectacular performance by Grammy-winning Nigerian sensation Wizkid, whose aura of superstardom swept through the audience. Big Wiz arrived with a suitcase full of hits, including Come Closer, Joro, Daddy Yo, Essence, Caro, Bad to Me, Soco, and a plethora of others. Wizkid, surprisingly, mixed things up with a soulful interpretation of Vincentian signer Kevin Lyttle’s song Turn Me On.
