Burna Boy, Black Sherif, K.O, And Others Nominated For The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards

The nominees for the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards, which will be held on October 3 in Atlanta, United States, have been announced, and they include a number of African artists in addition to well-known musicians from other continents. Among the prominent nominees are South African K.O., the late AKA, Ghana’s Black Sherif, Zambia’s Sampa the Great, Nigeria’s Burna Boy, and Zambia’s Black Sherif.

The BET Hip Hop Awards, which were established in 2006, honor excellence in the hip-hop sector by honoring great artists, producers, and directors of music videos. With an astounding seven nominations, Burna Boy leads the African continent and ranks third among all artists nominated for the awards.

His nominations include those for Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Hip Hop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, and Hustler of the Year, among others. Black Sherif is nominated in the same category as last year, where she received a mention for Best International Flow.

Along with other international performers, he is nominated alongside deceased South African rapper AKA and K.O, another well-known hip-hop performer from that country. The previous year, Nigerian singer Tems won the Best Collaboration Award for her appearance on Future’s “Wait For U” with Drake, giving Africa its lone victory.
