Wizkid Continues His Epic Run On The Billboard Charts

Following its re-entrance into the Billboard Charts years after its debut, Wizkid’s “Made in Lagos,” one of the greatest Afrobeats projects ever made, seems to be gaining fresh popularity among Wizkid FC and the new fans.

The “Made In Lagos” album has just re-entered the Billboard World Albums chart at number 15, continuing to prolong his chart record and making him the second African artist with the longest-charting album on the chart.

In February 2022, Wiz and Cesaria Evora, a Cape Verdean singer who won a Grammy for her album “Cesária,” tied for the title of the longest-charting African album on the Billboard World Albums chart. She was the only African musician to have her album stay put on the chart for that length of time, totalling 66 weeks and ultimately peaking at number 2.

However, Wiz’s most recent re-entry has now been on the list for more than 130 weeks. But with the way fans worldwide have been consistently consuming a three-year-old album, one would think Wiz hasn’t released any new records since then.

While the Grammy Award-winning singer keeps his diehard fans eagerly anticipating new music, Big Wiz dropped “More Love Less Ego,” a follow-up studio album to MIL, last year. Sadly, the album failed to live up to the monstrous standards set by MIL globally, though it still has not left the top 25 albums on Apple Music Nigeria since its release.
