As soon as a new video featuring the popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Yemi Alade’s bulging tummy surfaced, congratulations started rolling in. There had already been rumors that the 34-year-old singer and Taiye Aliyu, her longtime manager, were an item.

Despite her obviously big tummy, Yemi Alade shows off her dancing skills in the Instagram video while grooving to her song, “Amazing Grace.” She expressed her happiness in the statement that went with the video, wishing her fans a happy 2024.

In her funny caption, Yemi Alade urged everyone to post the videos on their phones despite displaying a noticably “big tummy.”

In other recent news, the Afrobeats singer has also revealed her delight at being one of the African artists who recorded “Akwaba,” the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) theme song.

The word “Akwaba” means “welcome” in the Baoule language of Ivory Coast.

Alade mentioned that Egyptian musician Mohamed Ramadan and the Ivorian group Magic System are featured in the 2024 AFCON anthem. She said that the song was produced by French producer Dany Synthe, who also published the music video on Universal Music Africa.
