Funke Akindele Biography
Funke Akindele is a Nigerian actress and film producer and one of the most popular in the field. She started acting as early as 1998 and has risen to the top of her career.
She is known simply as Jenifa – a reference to the flick of the same title she created.
While acting is her calling and she has made good money from the profession, she has temporarily ditched acting to focus on her political ambitions, having been picked as the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for Lagos state.
She was recently attacked alongside her team members while campaigning in one of the markets in Lagos. The incident made headlines in Nigeria, but the ruling APC denied a hand in it all.
She is a trained lawyer. She had to take up legal studies because her father always wanted her to read law. That notwithstanding, she is more famous as an actress.
