Donald McKinley Glover Jr., commonly known by his stage name Childish Gambino, was born on September 25, 1983, in the United States. He is an actor, comedian, singer, rapper, writer, director, and producer. At age 23, Tina Fey hired Glover as a writer for the NBC series 30 Rock after Glover worked in Derrick Comedy while attending New York University.
He then became well-known for playing Troy Barnes, a college student, in the NBC sitcom Community from 2009 to 2014. Glover created the FX series Atlanta, which he also occasionally directed, and starred in it from 2016 to 2022. Glover received numerous honors for his role on Atlanta, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards.
Glover’s third studio album, “Awaken, My Love!” (2016), produced the hit “Redbone,” which reached number twelve on the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered him his first Grammy Award.
